A custom wedding song, written for you

Getting married in Denmark and looking for something only the two of you have? I write a personalised wedding song from your own story, and I sing and record it myself. The song can be in English or Danish. Here is what you get, how it works and what it costs.

What is a custom wedding song?

A custom wedding song is a song written about you: your names, the places that matter to you, the inside jokes and the small details nobody else would think of. It is not a template where a name gets swapped in. I read what you tell me and write the lyrics from it.

In Denmark, the word for wedding song (bryllupssang) usually means something else: new lyrics on a well-known tune that the guests sing from a printed sheet. That is a lovely tradition, but it is not a recorded song. What I make is a calm, acoustic ballad that you can play at the ceremony or for your first dance, and keep afterwards.

An original melody, with your story in the verses

I want to be clear about how the song is built. The melody and the chorus, about choosing each other, are written by me and are the same in all my songs. The verses and the bridge are written for each couple. That is where your story lives.

So it is an original wedding song, not a famous hit with new words. And because the melody is shared, you can listen to the example song below and hear exactly how yours will sound before you order.

How it works

1. You tell me your story. In the order form you write how you met, inside jokes, pet names, plans for the future and the little details. You choose English or Danish.
2. I write the lyrics from what you have written.
3. You read and approve. You get one round of corrections on the lyrics before anything is recorded.
4. I sing and record the song myself. It is my voice you hear.
5. You receive your song within 7 days after your order is confirmed and paid, as an MP3 via a personal download link. If your DJ needs a WAV file, I am happy to send that too.

Price

You pay for the song by card or MobilePay via Stripe when you order. Live performance is a request: I aim to reply within 48 hours, and you only pay for it once I have confirmed the date.

A wedding singer in Denmark, for your own song

I am Emma, a professional singer and songwriter. I live in Copenhagen and perform live all over Denmark. If you choose the live option, I sing your own song with vocals and guitar. I only perform your song live, as an add-on to the song itself, so this is not a full set list of other music.

A song as a wedding gift

The song does not have to be ordered by the couple. It works well as a wedding gift from the best man, the maid of honour, friends or family, or as a surprise for your future wife or husband. Whoever orders writes the couple's story in the form.

When to use the song

• At the ceremony, played or sung live.
• For your first dance.
• After a speech, or as a quiet moment during dinner.
• Afterwards, in your wedding video or on your first anniversary.
